About Michael Becker

Michael Becker is a creative technologist, engineer, and writer based in the Pacific Northwest.

His work focuses on real-time graphics, OpenUSD interoperability, spatial computing, and creative production tooling across film, games, and immersive media. Most recently, he served as a Staff Engineer at Walt Disney Studios, collaborating with teams across Disney, Pixar, ILM, Marvel, and external partners on next-generation asset exchange and downstream reuse workflows.

His technical work spans Unreal Engine, web-native graphics, OpenUSD, MaterialX, and emerging creative technologies including AI-assisted workflows and real-time visualization systems.

Before Disney, he worked across XR, web, and interactive media at companies including Magic Leap and Pluto.

Alongside his technical work, he writes and makes art, typically following a few consistent threads: technology, mythology, memory, and creative practice.
